Communication

Slack — use general channel for social; use project-specific channels for quick discussions, brainstorming, and sharing updates. For more formal project management, use GitHub issues.

🚫 No PHI in Slack - No MRNs, no patient names, no EHR/SD screenshots with identifiers. Even de-identified-looking data can become PHI in combination — when in doubt, leave it out and send a restricted sensitivity email instead.

Email — use for sensitive information, including PHI (restricted sensitivity), and for formal communications.

Student Onboarding

New Centralized Support for Student Appointments The Department of Medicine has established a centralized team to support student appointments and classifications. Faculty and staff members can now reach out for support with determining the appropriate pathways to onboard students or identifying official programs available for student applications.
