Synthetic Derivative and BioVU
Internal access checklist
Internal checklist for getting a new lab member set up with SD/BioVU access. SD/BioVU is accessed through Terra.bio. For general information about SD/BioVU, see the SD/BioVU page on krantzlab.org.
April 2026 SD Release on Terra Current SD version on Terra: vumc-sd-prod.terra_sd_20260228
IRB# 260604 covers SD/BioVU access for the lab. Title: Translational bioinformatics for drug hypersensitivity and allergic disease
VICTR Resource Request Project ID: VR74221
Other notes: Use Chrome Browser Create a Chrome profile tied to your @vumc.org email for work-related browsing and credentials to make logging in to Terra easier.
Each step is labeled with who is responsible.
1. VUMC credentials (PI)
SD/BioVU access requires a VUMC ID and @vumc.org email. Medical students already have these — skip to step 2. For Vanderbilt undergraduates and other non-VUMC personnel, Matt initiates the contingent worker process in Workday; the new user then completes their portion of the onboarding.
2. CITI training (user)
Complete CITI training through Vanderbilt: vumc.org/irb/citi
3. IRB modification — add as KSP (PI)
Submit an IRB modification to add the new user as Key Study Personnel (KSP). CITI training must be on file first.
4. Request to Add Project Personnel to BioVU (PI)
Email biovu@vumc.org and provide the VR number for your project VR74221. You will be given a unique link to complete your request.
5. Google Identity and Chrome profile (user)
Terra requires Google Chrome to log in. Set up the following:
- Create a Chrome profile tied to your
@vumc.orgemail — this keeps work browsing and credentials separate from any personal Google accounts. - Create a Google Identity using the same
@vumc.orgemail. This is the account you’ll use to log in to Terra.bio.
6. Terra workspace (PI)
Matt creates a Terra workspace for the project and adds the new user as a member.
